Sandwich is nothing but a dish of vegetables,cheese slices,butter, chutneys which are placed on or in bread. Sandwiches are mostly famous for lunchbox, breakfasts and for a chill time. It is a quick time dish. Sandwiches are easily available in any hotel and restaurant and on any street cart. Bread pakora is also famous after sandwich. There are various types of sandwiches :- Grilled sandwich,egg sandwich,meat ball sandwich,tomato cucumber sandwich, veg cheese Sandwich, curd sandwich,etc… Here we will see how to make aloo sandwich at home very easily.

There are many types of breads. I’m using brown bread because they are more healthy as compared to other breads.

Steps to make aloo Sandwich:-

  1. Make aloo bhaji to place on bread.
  2. Cut the bread edge to edge.( Make it in triangle shape)
  3. Place the bhaji on one bread and put another bread on it.
  4. Roast in on the gas for a while.
  5. It is ready to serve.

How To Make Aloo Sandwich At Home

Breads are easily available in market. At the last I’m sharing green chutney recipe also which is important for sandwich. Following Ingredients are important while making aloo sandwich. Vegetables are optional. If you want to make sandwich more healthier then you can add as per your choice.


  1. 2 tbsp oil
  2. 1/2 tbsp cumin seeds
  3. 1/2 tbsp musterd seeds
  4. Salt to taste
  5. 1 chopped onion
  6. 2-3 curry leaves
  7. 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  8. 1/2 tbsp turmeric powder
  9. 3 medium sized potatoes boiled and mashed
  10. 1/2 tbsp red chilly powder
  11. 1/2 finely chopped green chilly
  12. 2-3 peas (optional)
  13. 1/2 tbsp chat masala
  14. Cheese slices (optional)
  15. 1/2 tbsp lemon juice
  16. 6 sandwich or brown breads

How To Make Aloo Sandwich At Home

How to make aloo sandwich:-

First of all wash the potatoes. Boil them in pressure cooker. After two to three whistles remove it from cooker and allow it to cool. Next, peel the potatoes and mash them with the masher. Now, put a pan on gas. Make sure gas flame is between medium to lower. Add 2-3 tbsp oil. Let it heat for half or a minute. Then add musturd seeds. Let them cracle for 1-2 minutes. After that add 1/2 tbsp of cumin seeds. Add curry leaves as per your choice. Curry leaves are optional. But curry leaves makes the tadka better.

Now add 1 finely chopped onion and saute it well.Saute it for atleast 4-5 minutes. At some time it will be in golden or in brown colour. After that add boiled and mashed potatoes. Add ginger garlic paste to it. Mix all the ingredients with it. Saute it. After mixing the mashed potatoes add red chilly powder and salt to taste.

You can add peas and more veggies if they are available at your home. Then add 1/2 tbsp or 1/3 tbsp of chat masala. Add 1/2 tbsp lemon juice. Saute them and mix properly. Our aloo bhaji is ready.

Now take slices of bread. Put bhaji on bread with the help of spoon and spread it evenly. On the other bread apply tomato sauce or green chutney. Put that bread slice on aloo bhaji bread. If you have cheese slices you can add.

Roast the breads:-

After that, take a pan. Add 1 tbsp oil or butter. Put the breads on pan and let it heat. After bread turning to brown in colour,heat another side of bread. Next cut them and make it in triangle shape.Our aloo sandwich is ready to serve.

Sandwich is incomplete without green chutney. Green chutney gives another level of happiness and taste in sandwich.It is an essential chutney that you required while making sandwich. It is optional but is very good for the tastier and delicious sandwich. Let’s see how to make green chutney at home very easily.

How to make green chutney:-


  • 1/2 cup roasted chana dal
  • 1/4 mint leaves
  • 1/2 cup coriander leaves
  • 1/3 rd tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp cumin powder Oil
  • 1/4th tbsp chilled water ( as per requirement)
  • Chopped green chilly 1/4th tbsp sugar.

Recipe for How to make green chutney:-

Wash mint leaves and coriander leaves properly one by one. Put them into the blender. Add roasted chana dal,chopped green chillies,sugar and salt. Blend the once. After blending add lemon juice,oil and chilled water for consistency. You can add more amount of water or less as per your choice. Now our green chutney is ready to serve with sandwich.
